Seasons Change

Seasons Change

Much like seasons change, so do our lives (these photos were taken on the first day of spring but it was 30 degrees).  It all ebbs and flows.  We fall in love, we fall out of love. We stay in places too long or move to new places to swiftly. We forgive often but never forget. We pay off debts and incur more.

In this season of my life, I have been intentional.  Intentional about my goals. Intentional about my dreams. Intentional about my feelings.  Intentional, but not overthinking.  My best friend told me when I started this journey to just enjoy the ride.  Don’t make meaning out of things that aren’t there, don’t seek an explanation for something that doesn’t require one, simply enjoy and embrace and it was the best advice she’s ever given me.  As a project manager, it is my job to anticipate problems and hurdles and put a plan in action to prevent them from happening, and not spend too much time on the minute details because they will disrupt the timeline.  Unfortunately, I took this same approach with my personal life.  I was so caught up in planning for missteps that I couldn’t enjoy the moment.  I was so busy constructing a plan that I lost sight of the myself.  The small things and details that I should I have focused on, I ignored in an effort to preserve my peace. I looked up after six years in a relationship and obtaining degrees and realized, I was no longer the person who I admired and decided I needed a change.  I was missing my core.  Some of the things that made me, me.  I set out on a journey to recover them.

I had three goals:

1.     To affirm myself daily, which is empowering

2.     To release anything that caused my anxiety, which is freeing

3.     To trust God and my intuition more than I ever have before, which is having faith

All the while maneuvering my day-to-day responsibilities. I will share this journey throughout my blog over the next couple of weeks.  Stay tuned!

With love,
